A wonderful opportunity for those interested in learning more about the horse and general its care, learning some practical skills in handling the horse in order to be safer around them and learning about the different processes we engage to keep ourselves safe when dealing with these strong and sometimes unpredictible creatues.

Topics will include :

  • The practicalities in preparing a horse to ride and care after riding.
  • Caring for the kit used such as saddles bridles their fitting and care.
  • Care of the horses feet and how to recognise when a horse needs a trim or new shoes and why they are shod in the first place.
  • Feeding grain & hay bedding straw and how to maintain a stable.
  • These are just a few of the topics that will be covered both with practical hands on experience and classroom theory. 

Lunch will be provided, tea & coffee bottomless cup. Snacks and cans will be available to purchase for the snack wagon.

Warm practical yard wear is advisable, comfortable boots and work gloves. Trainers are NOT to be worn.

Perfect day for those thinking or loaning or purchasing a horse or simply want to upskill.

Attendance certification will be given to all participents.

Open to both Adults and Junior 12-15yrs so please take care when booking and pick the correct session.
